Sculpting Nature's Spirals
Welcome to the work of Ellen Dickinson Fiber Sculptures where tradition meets innovation in the world of fiber art. As a passionate fiber artist, I challenge conventional boundaries by merging form and structure through the ancient technique of basketry coiling. Each unique sculpture is a labor of love, meticulously created from neutral linen warp coiled and wrapped around a poly cord. Inspired by the inherent spiral of the technique and the spiral accretions formed in nature, I explore and interpret flowers, corals, shells and the fluidity of water.
